Go select your Download site and begin that process then scroll back up here and read the rest of the page as you retrieve your program .You can also download the FAQ and the IRC Intro file here.

Using mIRC
The first window that comes up is your "Status" window. This is where all the messages from the server will show. At the bottom of the Status window is where you can type the commands to access channels and information about other users. Use the Tool Bar along the top of mIRC to perform some functions. Click on the 6th button
to retrieve a list of channels. To join a channel, double click on the channel name in the list.
***NOTE: Listing channels may cause you to be disconnected from the IRC server. If you get disconnected, simply click the lightning bolt
on the button bar. This is not unusual. It's just the way it is.
***Click with your *right* mouse button in the Status window. A menu should pop up. Click on some of the menu choices to see what they do. Once you have joined a channel, click once (with your *left* mouse button) on a user's nickname to highlight it, click with your *right* mouse button and select "Whois" from the menu that appears. The reults of your query will show in the Status window. If a menu does not pop up you will have to type some commands. All commands start with forward slash (/). In the edit line of either the Status or Channel windows type: /whois nickname and hit Enter. The results of your query will show in the Status window.
Also To chat privately with a user in the channel, double click on their nickname.
This should be enough to get you started. If you have any problems, read the
mIRCFAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) and the program help files or visit the the mIRC Homepages.
